Welcome to HEPNet

2000-2010

The Health Economics and Policy Network in Africa (HEPNet) was a unique network of 37 institutions from Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe that aimed to build in-depth expertise in health economics and health policy analysis to improve health systems in Sub-Saharan Africa. HEPNet was established in 2000, completed in 2010 and coordinated by the University of Cape Town’s Health Economics Unit. This website is an archive of the activities, presentations and general information of what HEPNet achieved.

In it’s final year (2010), HEPNet had close links with these networks:

  • AfHEA: African Health Economics and Policy Association
  • WAHEN: West African Health Economics Network
  • NiHEA: Nigerian Health Economics Association
  • iHEA: International Health Economics Association
